EXPERIMENTAL GRIDS
Pushing the limits of grid systems- with strict limitations. No color, imagery, or diagonal type allowed. However, I had the unique opportunity to disregard meaning within the text. These parameters allowed me to reduce type to its forms to explore how hierarchy and pushing the limits of grids can create 3 dynamic compositions.
The process began with thumbnail sketches of 6, 9, and 12 column grids.
Select thumbnails were recreated with cut paper.
Iterations were made after critiques, resulting in these final spreads.
